We will use hand-carved wooden blocks from India, to print pattern repeats. This workshop will include some festive printing blocks so that you can make yourself a set of napkins for your Christmas table or a festive tea towel to help someone else enjoy drying the dishes!

About the event
Bring a friend and come and immerse yourselves in a world of pattern and colour at our ever popular Block Printing Workshop! Join me, Karené and learn about printing pattern onto textiles with relief blocks.
We will use hand-carved wooden blocks from India, to explore pattern repeats. You will learn how to get the inking and the pressure just right and then create your own combinations of colour and motifs. First we will print onto a sheet of paper for gift wrap and then onto a fabric tea towel or set of napkins.
The process of block printing is calming and meditative, and at the same time there's something really satisfying and exciting about gradually seeing a pattern grow on your fabric.
